How we got Started with Prithiv Boxing Club
Coaching boxing started initially started for me because i needed the funds to pay for my university fees, And i was always passionate about teaching the sport that i spent decades mastering
But First, Here's More About My Boxing Journey (Prithiv Raaj)
Growing up, I was a shy kid who got bullied. I got intrigued by Boxing as I wanted to be able to defend myself and build my confidence
(Also inspired by a PSP video game called Fight Night)
I walked into a Boxing Gym for the first time at 12 and it was love at first sight;
I loved watching fighters grit it out, the sounds of Boxing and the smell of the gym.
I started boxing under the tutelage of former 1972 Olympian Coach Syed Abdul Kadir and since then I have been obsessed with Boxing.
I would train before school, during lunch breaks and after school. I was an absolute maniac.
I started fighting in the amateurs and represented Singapore in various international tournaments including the SEA Games in 2017 and Commonwealth Youth Games in 2015.
After competing in 57 amateur bouts, I decided to turn professional.
As a professional boxer, I've achieved a record of 6 wins, 5 of which comes by way of KOs, 0 losses and I'm currently the WBC Asia Continental Champion.
So, Here's How PBC Came Alive!
I started out as an assistant junior trainer in a boxing gym which eventually closed,
Following that I coached door to door at people’s homes, one thing led to another and...
i started the boxing coaching business officially 3 years ago coaching people at parks and a tiny unit i rented that could only realistically fit 2 people at a time.
From there with all the overwhelming support from the PBC Members, I saved up and finally managed to open our doors here in the heart of Boat Quay!
